Office for Students

The Office for Students (OfS) is the independent regulator of higher education in England, working to ensure that all students – whatever their background – have a fulfilling experience and achieve successful outcomes. Its role includes overseeing quality and standards, protecting student interests, and promoting fair access to education. The OfS holds colleges and universities accountable for delivering high-quality teaching, supporting student wellbeing, and ensuring value for money. By setting requirements such as the Access and Participation Plan, the OfS helps drive improvements across the sector, making sure that higher education remains inclusive, transparent, and focused on student success.

What is the value of the wider information set?

In order that applicants, students, and the wider public can easily access clear and accurate information about our institution, we provide a collection of information, referred to as our Wider Information Set, which:

  • Shows how we meet the expectations set out by the OfS
  • Supports prospective students in making well-informed choices about what and where to study.
  • Enables stakeholders to assess the quality and performance of us as a higher education provider
  • Shows how we contribute to student success and the wider community
